PAST EVENT: Life in the Ahupua'a Family Activity

Welcome to Ka Nohona Ahupua'a - Life in the Ahupua'a, a fun and exciting interactive learning experience around the concept of the ahupua'a, a traditional Hawaiian land division that extends from the mountain to the sea. You will learn many interesting things about life in the ahupua'a in early Hawai'i and you will discover more about the importance of caring for our ʻāina (land), the kai and all the resources that come with it!

This Life in the Ahupua'a activity will be run by a visiting team from Kamehameha Schools in Hawai'i, who also developed the interactive.

Don't forget to also visit the Old Library to take part in the free drop-in activity making Hawaiian Bird Finger puppets 12.00 - 15.00pm as part of your visit too, celebrating the new exhibition now open, Hawai'i Ma uka to Ma kai: Quilting the Hawaiian Landscape.
